Sarah's mentor during the timeskip, as well as her secret godfather. He's a handsome fellow that looks younger then he is, like Shaky does. Like the term, "silver fox" or something.

Renato Acerbi is an world-wide infamous figure within the mafia, and general criminal world altogether, for his bounty-hunter/mercenary work and title as "World's Greatest Hitman". Born to an civilian mother and mafia-member father, life wasn't easy for him. While his parents dearly loved him and each other, they often argued about his father's work. Despite her misgivings about it, Renato's mother let her husband train their son as a mafia member, so he could protect himself.

Eventually, his mother fell ill and passed away, and Renato's father died due to an attack by a rival family, and Renato fled for his life, eventually coming onto the crew of Noire Kimura, Sarah's grandmother, as a cabin-boy, alongside her son, Isamu.

Their time together on the crew led to them becoming quite close, and Isamu declared one day that Renato was going to be his brother, no matter what. Renato attempted to stop him by telling the captain, but Noire just laughed and welcome him into the family as her second son. Eventually, when Isamu left the crew to become a Marine, Renato left shortly after to become a mercenary, saying he had to be somewhere in the middle of his family, to keep an eye on them.

During this time, he was eventually introduced to Sora, and became quite fond of her as both a fellow bounty hunter and friend. He found it funnily ironic when his brother and friend eventually met, argued for so many years, then fell in love and married. Rather typical.

During Sora's pregnancy, the couple declared Renato as her godfather, despite his protests about having no experience with children. Due to his work, he wasn't able to get to Blackmount in time to save his brother and his wife, though he made an attempt to speak with Alani over what they should do about Sarah.

Eventually, the two agreed that it was probably for the best that she remain on Blackmount with Alani, simply because they didn't know what Renato's rivals and targets would do to her if they found out she existed.

Renato currently lives on a remote island known as the "Hulz Chain", within the "Paradise" half of the Grand Line. He constantly trains in the dangerous changing environment, keeping himself in shape.

Suave, proud and experienced, Renato is feared by both criminals and Marines alike for his strength and high-success kill rate. A gentleman through-and-through, the hitman treats everyone fairly, especially if they're enemies or opponents, but isn't afraid to harm or kill them if they're in the way.

He's a bit sadistic as a mentor, as Sarah greatly assets, but is very protective of his goddaughter and is more then willing to put a bullet through someone's head for her sake. While a master marksman in guns, he is highly proficient in diverse weaponry and can use literally almost anything as a weapon.
